In this short video produced by IFAW, we see how IFAW's tenBoma project continues to grow and make an impact for the protection of elephants. On September 28th, 2016 during an event at the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) CoP17 in Johannesburg, South Africa, IFAW announced it's partnership with INTERPOL in combatting wildlife trade. The event also highlighted how IFAW's partnership with local Maasai community leaders, Kenyan government officials, Kenyan-based NGOs, and now international agencies like INTERPOL has been integral to the success of stopping poaching in Kenya. This will hopefully serve as a framework to be replicated across other countries in Africa to ensure that iconic species like elephants and rhinos have a future.
