The top half shows the real-life footage of Lore Bauer, otherwise known as the "Lost German Girl" as she surrenders to the US army at the end of the War in Europe in 1945.

The bottom half is a section from the film Come and See (1985) the most impactful cinematic portrayal of the atrocities on the Eastern Front. The full movie can be found on youtube. Please watch it.

The clips have no relation to each other other than their similarity in appearance and effectiveness in highlighting the horrors of the second world war. One, in reality, and the other through fiction.
