Melatwork Tibebu was born in Ethiopia and has always been a symbol of determination and hope. At the age of 33, with a career in public management and a passion for education, she epitomized the spirit of leadership. Her life took a transformative turn in June 2019 when she traveled to Nairobi to take part in the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI).
Nairobi, with its vibrant energy and multitude of ideas, was a stark contrast to Mulu’s peaceful routine back in Ethiopia. The YALI program, with its workshops and interactive sessions, opened new horizons for her. It sparked a surge of creativity and inspiration; unlike anything she had experienced before. The program did more than just educate her; it ignited a passion within her to make a tangible difference in her community.
