Today we’re going to talk about what causes kidney stones and how to fix kidney stones. I know from experience that kidney stones can cause excruciating pain. I want to help you learn what to do.
Chemistry in your body that isn’t right can set you up to build crystals of calcium that are called oxalate stones. These are a mixture of oxalates and calcium.
There are different kinds of kidney stones, but calcium oxalate stones are the most common. These can occur if you have low citrates in your blood. Citrates are great for kidney stone prevention. If you don’t have citrates, you can build up crystals that develop kidney stones.
Different things people consume like high oxalate foods can lead to kidney stones. Some of these things are:
• Dark beer
• Cruciferous vegetables (I do recommend these for their many benefits though)
• Chocolate
• Fruit
• Soy
• Beans
• Beets
• Spinach
Other things that can lead to kidney stones:
• Antacids
• Calcium carbonate
• Sugar
• Sodium
What to do about kidney stones:
Increase citrates by consuming citric acid from organic lemon juice. Mix 1-3 tablespoons of lemon juice in the water you have throughout the day. You can also add 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in this mixture to really help clean out any calcium build up.
