CSX GP40-2 6921 is idling on the N&D Branch in Athens, Alabama, just north of Elm Street on a cold morning. The N&D gets its name from the Nashville & Decatur Rail Road; this branch was part of what was the original line through Athens.
CSX 6921 was originally C&O 4418. For many years 6921 was mated to slug 2222.
