During the Second World War the Japanese army were responsible for huge numbers of executions with its believed up to 14 million civilians being victims of the Japanese. But there was a story involving Japanese soldiers that emerged during the Battle of Ramree Island, that hundreds of Japanese soldiers had been attacked by saltwater crocodiles and had subsequently been killed and eaten by the beastly reptiles. The Japanese to avoid being captured cut through a mangrove swamp on the island, and they were attacked by venomous animals.
The majority of the Japanese never made it out of the swamp, and they succumbed to diseases but there were also a number who were attacked by the crocodiles and were eaten. Many British soldiers testified about what they saw after the war and confirmed that this was actually the case, and they even referred to the reptiles as their allies.
