The recent situation in Ladakh is explained. Like Pakistan, India's border with China is also not fully demarcated
Both countries claim each other's territory as their own which causes tension. India claims Aksai Chin as its part, therefore doesn’t accept its border called Line of Actual Control LAC. On the other hand, China considers Arunachal Pradesh as its part and doesn’t accept the McMahon Line.
The border dispute has risen since 2010 when India started road construction near LAC in Ladakh. Recent clashes happened in May 2020, when the Chinese army crossed the LAC at four locations. China has accused India of establishing illegal defense-related constructions near LAC.
Chinese forces have entered in Ladakh at 3 locations Pangong Tso, Galwan Valley & Demchok.
A similar incident has also taken place near Sikkim in the east.
