Swedish tenor Jussi Björling (1911-60) was one of the best singers of all time, and Im not saying that just because Im from Sweden, Im a great fan of Jussi Björling just like many others all over the world. A young record collecting friend (and Jussi Björling enthusiast) asked me to upload one of my Jussi Björling records in this Youtube channel, so I thought, why not? Since most of Jussi Björlings recordings are great, it was a difficult decision to choose which Jussi Björling disc to play. Anyway, I chose a recording made in Stockholm, October 8, 1936. The song is Ay, ay, ay of which I dont know that much other than such diverse musicians and artists as Chet Atkins, Engelbert Humperdinck, Nana Mouskouri and Luciano Pavarotti also used to perform it. Anyway, according to the label it was written by Chilean composer Osman Pérez Freire (1880-1930). Still it doesnt really matter what Björlings singing, you can never go wrong with that voice.
