Canary with Hyperkeratosis | Shimmer goes to The Links Road Bird and Animal Clinic. I noticed her feet looked swollen and the had a lot of scales. I thought maybe she had Scaly feet. Scaly feet is contagious so I was worried.
The vet descaled her feet and said it was not scaly feet and it is was called Hyperkeratosis which means abnormal excess of keratin on her feet. Basically a build of of dry skin on her feet.
I am using Hibatane for her feet and Baytril for her swollen feet.
She looks better after 4 days of treatment.
If you notice your canary has a build up of skin on the feet, take your canary to the vet to rule out scaly feet. #LoveofPets
