Despite the noble intentions of the Corporate Transparency Act in combating financial crimes like money laundering, the court found that Congress overstepped its bounds by imposing such extensive reporting requirements on businesses.

If you've been concerned about complying with the CTA and obtaining your FinCEN ID number, you still need to adhere to the requirements. However, the ruling only applies to the plaintiffs of the case, providing temporary relief for members of the National Small Business Association.
