In this episode of The Newshour, the host Navika Kumar will be discussing how there is currently a new controversy around the BBC documentary about Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the violence in Gujarat in 2002. At Hyderabad Central University, the Muslim Student Federation and Student Islamic Organization (SIO), more often known as the fraternity group, presented a BBC documentary on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The BBC documentary "India: The Modi Question" will allegedly air in Kerala, despite the BJP appealing Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to stop it from airing, according to several pro-CPI(M) and pro-Congress organisations. Asaduddin Owaisi, the leader of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the administration's decision to obstruct the BBC documentary about the violence in Gujarat in 2002. A few panelists join us. “You are using emergency power to ban something that cannot be hidden on the internet. Now people will be more interested to watch it,” says Tehseen Poonawalla, Political Analyst.
