Why do groups that face higher levels of poor mental health have the greatest difficulty in accessing services?
Waiting times and eligibility criteria are now (rightly) a major focus of national policy. But access issues run deeper. And too many people and communities have been left behind.
Our new briefing paper on access to mental health support, explores the barriers that are stopping people from getting the help they need and what services need to do to improve. We found that groups facing particularly high levels of poor mental health also, paradoxically, often experience the greatest difficulty in accessing services.
