Fr. John McFarland is joining us today to first look at the traditional Rite of Holy Orders. We’re going to see the history, what is necessary – that is, what is the form and matter of Holy Orders – and then we’ll go through the entire ceremony. As we’ve seen with the other sacraments, this sacrament could easily be done in just a minute or two. But the ceremony of Ordinations to the priesthood is full of rich symbolism, teaching, opportunities for grace, and a beauty that is unparalleled. We’ll show sections of the ceremonies from this past June at St. Thomas Aquinas Seminary, so you can follow along as well.
