In this on location photography video, I test out my newly procured Mamiya film camera with some Fujifilm FP-100B that expired in 2009. I like to test a used (new to me) camera as quickly as possible to make sure everything's working properly. While this won't let me check the film back, it gives me an idea of how the shutter, lens, bellows, etc. are operating. All I can say is I am so pleased with this camera and the instant film produced in this video!
The Mamiya RZ67 Pro ii is my new medium format film camera. With its versatility and customizability (yes that's a word), I am excited to really build it up into something that I can create art with. After working with a Pentax 6x7 film camera for nearly the entire year, I was ready to try something a bit different. From day 1, something inside my Pentax is broken resulting in a mechanical issue that causes it to only expose 7-8 frames (usually 7.5) which means every exposure is more expensive to take, develop, scan, etc. And I go through rolls faster. It all adds up when you're trying to practice and hone your photography skills. The Mamiya RZ 67 Pro ii is a fairly new film camera (released in 1993) that is built to be customized. There are different format backs for it, bellows that give you the ability to shift and tilt, different metering viewfinders, and (as shown in this video) a polaroid attachment.
