Hi, and welcome to the channel's Christmas special - sort of. This video is about a journey on a ScotRail Class 156 from Glasgow Queen Street to Oban, in the Scottish Highlands. This involves travelling over the West Highland Line, which is widely regarded as one of the most scenic routes in Europe. Just to break the illusion of Christmas, this video was filmed in mid-November. :)
ScotRail have recently been refurbishing these units, introducing new seats of the Fainsa Ironing Board style, but unlike most other applications of this product, I found the interior to be quite welcoming. These trains were once expected to be replaced by Class 158s around now, but that idea appears to have been cancelled, and these units seem set to continue for the forseeable.
