Elio is an upcoming American computer-animated science fiction adventure film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures. Directed by Domee Shi and Madeline Sharafian, with initial direction by Adrian Molina, and produced by Mary Alice Drumm, the 1 film features the voices of Yonas Kibreab, Jameela Jamil, Brad Garrett, Zoe Saldaña, Remy Edgerly, and Shirley Henderson. It follows an eleven-year-old boy named Elio 2 Solis who accidentally becomes the intergalactic Ambassador of planet Earth after being beamed up to the Communiverse by aliens for making contact.
The film begins with Elio, an imaginative and somewhat awkward 11-year-old boy, who is obsessed with all things space. He spends his days poring over alien encyclopedias, building elaborate model rockets, and dreaming of interstellar travel. His passion for the cosmos often clashes with his mother's more grounded expectations for him, leading to playful but frequent disagreements.

One day, while tinkering with his latest invention – a homemade alien communication device – Elio accidentally sends a signal into the vast expanse of space. Unbeknownst to him, this signal is intercepted by the Communiverse, an intergalactic organization that serves as a hub for representatives from countless planets across the universe.

The Communiverse, a dazzling metropolis of alien architecture and bustling extraterrestrial life, is a far cry from Elio's quiet suburban neighborhood. He is whisked away to this otherworldly realm by a mysterious alien ship, leaving behind his bewildered mother and a trail of unanswered questions.

Upon arriving at the Communiverse, Elio is mistaken for Earth's official ambassador, a misunderstanding that quickly spirals into a series of hilarious and chaotic events. He finds himself thrust into the spotlight, expected to represent the entire human race on the grandest stage in the universe.

Overwhelmed by the situation, Elio stumbles through his newfound role, making a series of blunders that threaten to damage Earth's reputation among the galactic community. However, along the way, he forms unexpected friendships with a diverse cast of alien characters, each with their own unique personalities and quirks.

There's Questa, the elegant and sophisticated ambassador from a planet of shimmering crystals; Glordon, the gruff but lovable mechanic from a planet of sentient robots; and OOOOO, the enigmatic and wise elder from a planet of living clouds. These unlikely companions become Elio's guides through the labyrinthine corridors of the Communiverse, helping him navigate the social intricacies of intergalactic diplomacy.

As Elio grapples with his newfound responsibilities, he also begins to question his own identity and place in the universe. He learns that being an ambassador isn't just about delivering speeches and shaking hands; it's about understanding different cultures, respecting diverse perspectives, and finding common ground amidst a sea of differences.

Along the way, Elio discovers a hidden crisis threatening the very fabric of the Communiverse, a crisis that only he, with his unique perspective as a human observer, can solve. He must use his wit, his imagination, and the newfound friendships he has forged to overcome this intergalactic challenge and prove that even a small boy from a small planet can make a big difference.
