5 April 2022: The Public Protector must do her work and I will do mine.
These are the words President Cyril Ramaphosa uttered on Sunday, when asked about the public protector.
Adv. Busisiwe Mkhwebane has asked the courts to force the National Assembly Speaker to halt her impeachment process, and to prevent the President from suspending her.
At the same time, the Democratic Alliance says this is a delaying tactic, while the Economic Freedom Fighters says the president's actions show that he is a dictator, and out for blood.
