On November 7, 2024, the Officiating Ceremony and knowledge transfer program for the Development of a Sustainable Distillation Panel System Through Sunlight for Underground Water Treatment for Orang Asli Leboh was held at Kampung Lama Orang Asli Leboh, Kangkar Senangar, Johor. This program was organized by Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), Pagoh Branch Campus in collaboration with Ranhill SAJ Sdn. Bhd. and Techkem Group.
The program was officiated by Associate Professor Ts. Jumadi bin Abdul Sukor as Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Technology, UTHM Pagoh Branch Campus, Haji Anuar Bin Abdul Ghani as Chief Executive Officer of Ranhill SAJ Sdn. Bhd. and Datuk David Ng as Chief Executive Officer of Techkem Group. To enlighten the villagers on how the REWART system works, Dr. Mimi Suliza from UTHM delivered a brief lecture while Ir. Dr. Chew Chun Ming from Techkem demonstrated the operation of REWART system.
Techkem team had REWART system in place within a week and the villagers can now benefit from around 150 litres of pure drinking water per day by using solar as a source of process. With green technology approach, REWART is one of the best solutions for rural area because of its ease of operation and maintenance feature, as well as no chemicals & electricity needed and minimum human intervention.
Through this CSR program, we hope the clean drinking water supply will brighten the Leboh villagers and facilitate their daily affairs. This program also will increase the cooperation between universities and industry in solving the problems of communities in need as well as strengthening the relationship between us.
