The video explains the development of certain species of calyptraeid gastropods and shows the planktonic stage, the veliger, of these marine snails.
Veligers use cilia to swim and also to catch algae and other small particles.
Veligers remain in the plankton for days or weeks before metamorphosing into juveniles and settling on rocks or shells in intertidal zone.
