One thousand Kosovar refugees were moved from camps near Kukes to other camps in Albania late on Monday.
Three convoys of refugees in Albanian army trucks, under the protection of Dutch and Belgian NATO troops, were brought to Mjeda, near Shkoder, and put on a train to Elbasan in central Albania.
These refugees are the ones who left the Kukes area on a voluntary basis in an attempt to move refugees from vulnerable areas near the border.
