Griffith University School of Environment students took to the waters in the Great Lakes region in NSW, south of Forster, to gaining valuable fieldwork and research experience as part of their degree.
The projects in Wallis Lake and Smiths Lake saw environmental science students involved in field-based work, collecting water, soil and plant samples under the supervision of lecturer Dr Will Bennett. The projects taught students on storage protocols of samples and then bringing those samples back for lab-based analysis.
This capstone experience provides students with a taste of what they will be doing in the workforce when they graduate.
