A Large landscape Bromeliad which shares the same genus as the "Edible" pineapple. Spiny leaves and a very attractive inflorescence. Beautiful plant for landscaping. Ananas are the bromeliad genera which are likely to be terrestrials (grown on the ground). unlike other genus on the family Bromeliaceae which more thank likely will absorb water through or on the "cup" , ananas need to be on then ground.
