Steve Gabriel and his wife own an agroforestry farm in New York that grows outdoor shiitake logs and indoor mushrooms. Steve is coordinator for production research for the Specialty Mushroom extension project for the Cornell Small Farms Program and teaches a number of courses on cultivation as well as the business side of starting an enterprise. He also co-authored 'Farming the Woods' which has a chapter on forest-grown mushrooms.
