Determine the offset for an intersection (Main Street at Oak Avenue) which is 800 feet downstream from the reference intersection (Main Street at Pine Avenue) as part of a coordinated signal system in three scenarios: 1) moving platoon, 2) standing platoon, and 3) 10 vehicles queued at the intersection with Oak Avenue. Also determine the cycle length for good progression in both directions. Main street is a 2-lane road. A study of the traffic on this roadway found an average travel speed of 45 mph, an average discharge headway of 2.4 seconds, and a startup lost time of 2 seconds.
