Natural date palm juice is prepared by tapping the palm tree. After tapping the palm tree the next step is gently heat the extracted date juice in a pot over a medium flame until it comes to a gentle boil. Once it reaches a boil, reduce the heat to a simmer and allow the juice to gently bubble away. Stir occasionally to ensure even cooking and prevent sticking.
As the date juice simmers, it gradually reduces in volume, thickening into a rich, luscious syrup reminiscent of molasses. The process requires patience, as it can take several hours for the juice to achieve the desired consistency.
