If you have a hankerin' for some Texas Roadhouse Rattlesnake Bites, don't worry. I'm going to show you how to make them at home. Simple and delicious crispy cheesy goodness. Let's go!
Recipe:
Ingredients:
2 Cups Pepper Jack Cheese - Shredded
3 Jalapeños - diced fine (you can take out the seeds if you're bein' fancy)
1 Cup All Purpose Flour
2 Eggs
1/4 Cup Milk
1 1/2 Cups breadcrumbs (I like plain Panko for this recipe)
You can season the breadcrumbs if you like with paprika, garlic powder, and/or cayenne pepper is you like
Pinch of Salt
Oil for frying (I like Canola Oil for these, but any neutral vegetable oil works)
Dipping sauces of your choice if any
Instructions:
1. Preheat neutral cooking oil to 350 degrees
2. Combine shredded pepper jack cheese and dice jalapeños
3. Shape into small balls by pressing together in your hand and place balls on a baking pan with parchment paper
4. Once all balls are formed, place them in the freezer for up to one hour
5. Set up breading station (flour, egg wash, and bread crumbs)
6. Bread your cheese and jalapeño balls
7. Gently lower breaded balls into you 350 degree oil
8. Fry until golden brown - 3 to 4 minutes
9. Let your fried bites drain on a rack or paper towel
10. Let cool slightly then dip in your favorite dipping sauce. ENJOY!
11. Bites can also be frozen for enjoying later.
