Join us in celebrating the legacy of Tariku Birhanu through Maleda, the last of his masterpiese in Ethiopian movie. A beloved actor known by his stage name Baba, Tariku was an influential actor and director in the Ethiopian movie industry. He has left an indelible mark with his roles in iconic Ethiopian movies such as "Hiwot Ena Sak," "Kebad Mizan," "Wondime Yakob," and "Ye’Arada Lij."
Tariku Birhanu's journey in the Ethiopian film industry began early in his life. Over his career, he starred in and directed around 40 Amharic movies, becoming a household name in Ethiopia. Some of his notable works include "Laundry Boy," "Love and Facebook," "The Engineers," "Abat Hager," and "Martreza." His contributions to Ethiopian films have inspired many and continue to do so.
Tariku also supported various charitable causes, including the Eye Bank of Ethiopia, demonstrating his commitment to giving back to the community.
On 10 December 2022, Tariku Birhanu passed away at the age of 38 due to an undisclosed illness. His funeral service took place at Holy Trinity Cathedral on 12 December, where many celebrities and relatives gathered to pay their respects. His legacy continues through his films and the impact he made on the Ethiopian film industry.
