Queen Camilla stepped out for day one of Royal Ascot wearing a tailored white suit from luxury French fashion house Dior, sparking speculation has been a fine dig at her estranged daughter, Meghan Markle. Camilla's dress choice comes just a day after Dior denied signing Duchess of Sussex as new face of house, which had been widely reported among British newspapers in previous days. According to British tabloids, Meghan was opening up to become the "Duchess of Dior" after losing her lucrative deal with Spotify. On Tuesday, representatives for Dior were stunned by the reports and insisted on the telegram that there were no such negotiations. Queen Camilla chose a Dior suit from Day 1 of Royal Ascot. Royal Ascot runs a total of five days of races and is particularly famous for fashion extravagant hats and other headdresses. The iconic Berkshire Horseracing Event is one of highlights on British social calendar and, as name suggests, includes participation of various royal family members. In first two days race, spectators caught eye of King Charles Queen Camilla, as well as Princess Anne, Princess Eugenie, Duke Edinburgh and Zara Mike Tindall. “The gossip in the royal enclosure was how happy everyone was that Meghan and Harry weren't here,” a source told The Telegraph. Zara and Mike Tindall also attended Ascot on Tuesday. Oddly enough, rumors that Meghan will sign an endorsement deal with Dior just months after her husband, Prince Harry, was wrongly linked to the French fashion house. Harry wore Dior outfit to a London court appearance in April, and sparking sparking may also be close to signing as brand ambassador. The House of Dior has a long history with royalty, dating back to the life of Christian Dior, who famously dressed Princess Margaret for her 21st birthday celebrations in 1951. Dior chose the 'Lady Dior' bag in Diana's honor Decades later, the late Princess Diana became a regular customer of the couture house and was even gifted a new Dior bag called 'Chouchou' by Bernadette Chirac, France's first Lady. Diana wore Dior slip dress to the 1996 Met Gala while carrying a midnight blue version of the bag in Velvet and caused global sensation. The hype surrounding Diana's Dior handbag has been noted by fashion historians, heralding a new era of demand for designer handbags around the world. Dior later renamed the "Lady Dior" handbag in Diana's honor, a title she still holds today.
