End of August 2022, I set out on a solo overnight trip to tag both summits. I started at Agnew Meadow the first morning on the High Trail to Thousand Island Lake. I hiked around the lake and scrambled up to Lake Catherine and spent the night on the east side of the lake. Early the second morning, I ascended the Banner/Ritter Col, mostly staying to the left of the glacier. I dropped my pack at the Col and scrambled up Banner which took around an hour roundtrip to my pack. Then I went up the north face of Mt. Ritter on steep and exposed but easy Class 3 rock. From there I descended the normal route down Ritter to Lake Ediza and back to Agnew Meadow via the River Trail.
