Today is 22nd September, or the 6th day of the 8th month in Chinese lunar calendar, this day marks Qiufen (Autumn Equinox), the 16th solar term of this year. On this day, the sun is directly over the Earth's equator, the day is evenly divided, and there are no polar days or nights on the planet. Qiufen was originally the traditional festival to offer sacrifices to the moon, which evolved to the Mid-autumn day (the 15th day of the 8th month of Chinese lunar calendar). During the Mid-Autumn Festival, farmers around the world are busy harvesting and planting, and people reunite with their families and appreciate the full moon. The autumnal equinox is the mid-point of autumn and marks the beginning of late autumn. The most obvious change is in the colors of the trees, which are brilliant and colorful, like the landscape in an oil painting.
