Fox News has canceled “Lou Dobbs Tonight, ” a Fox News Media spokesperson confirms, just one day after the longtime host was hit with a defamation lawsuit from voting machine company Smartmatic alleging he promoted conspiracy theories about the election.“As we said in October, FOX News Media regularly considers programming changes and plans have been in place to launch new formats as appropriate post-election, including on FOX Business – this is part of those planned changes. A new 5PM program will be announced in the near future, ” a Fox News Media spokesperson said. Fox News suffered its worst ratings drop in 20 years, finishing behind MSNBC and CNN in January. Multiple reasons could explain the ratings drop. Trump supporters have been turning to even more right-wing sources like Newsmax and OANN.
