The virtue of the blessed month of Ramadan


We are now in a great blessed month, which is the month of Ramadan, the month of fasting, standing up and reciting the Qur’an, the month of emancipation and forgiveness, the month of alms and charity, a month in which the gates of paradise are opened, good deeds are multiplied, and stumbling blocks are said, a month in which prayers are answered, ranks are raised, and forgiveness is forgiven. In it are bad deeds, a month in which God, Glory be to Him, bestows His blessings upon His servants with all kinds of miracles, and rewards His saints abundantly in gifts. Whoever rises in faith and in hope of reward, Allah will forgive him for his past sins. A month in which there is a night that is better than a thousand months. Whoever is deprived of its goodness has been deprived. So receive him with joy, pleasure and sincere determination to fast and pray, and compete in it for good deeds,
