From November 30th 2019, routes 118, 280, N44 and N133 were on diversion due to a collapsed bridge in Mitcham. Temporary circular route 718 was introduced between Morden Station and Rose Hill Roundabout, to serve the unused section of the 118 and a small part of the 280. As the 718 was only temporary, and the diversion was supposed to end in early 2020, one Ibus announcement "718 To Morden" was created, but no blinds. Instead, every bus that used the route was a bandit. However, due to Covid (I think), the roadworks were delayed multiple times, continuing into 2021.

Two years later, with the bridge works finally being complete, and the bridge fully reopened, all diverted routes have now returned to their original LOR prior to November 2019, meaning that the 718 is no longer needed. After the last run on SE269 today, route 718 will cease operation.
