6-Minute Skipping Workout | Coaching Session with Kelly
Join me as I coach my client, Kelly, through a 6-minute skipping workout, designed to improve footwork, fitness, technique, and balance. This session gives you a behind-the-scenes look at how I coach and use footwork drills to build a strong skipping foundation.
We’re training at my very own gym in Manchester, where I help clients master their skipping skills and build confidence.
What to Expect:
This workout is perfect for beginners and those looking to refine their basics. We focus on:
Basic Bounce
Boxer Step
Run Skips
Side Straddle
Front Straddle
How It Works:
Demo & Benefits: First, I guide Kelly through each footwork style, explaining why it’s beneficial—whether it’s improving balance, endurance, or coordination.
The Workout:
20 seconds of work followed by 20 seconds of rest for each footwork.
2-minute rounds with 3 rounds total:
Round 1: Steady pace.
Round 2: Medium speed.
Round 3: High-intensity pulse raiser.
All you need is a timer or clock and your jump rope. Follow along with Kelly and challenge yourself to make as few mistakes as possible. Mistakes are normal—just jump straight back in and keep moving!
This workout serves as a warm-up for advanced tricks and skills, but it’s also a fantastic standalone routine.
