This time a bit of a sad story because somebody didn't do the job that was paid for. According to an unnamed company they replaced the timing belt for this customer and one year later it came off. This Seat Leon with 1.6TDI engine was delivered to us on recovery as a non runner with no timing belt on the engine already. I tried to do the job as most reasonably to save the owner some money but it was still not cheap. While I was taking the timing parts off the engine everything had a stamp on it from VW manufacture from 2016 so the timing was never done. At first I didn't know it meant to be done a year before and on collection day I was shocked when he showed me the stamp in the service book that it was '' done'' .
