In this episode from our SINGLE STOREY EXTENSION - INSTALLING STEEL BEAMS we see the guys showing you how to use a beam lift to fit steel beams. The guys show you how to install steel beams and position them on the pad stone. The new G-deck scaffold is installed and then John is fitting timber rafters to steel beam. Pete is cutting rafters creating a fall on a flat roof and Joe does the wall plate lap joint for on top of the steel. John shows you how to bolt trimmers together and fit lateral straps and fit joist hangers. He then shows you how to cut timber noggins for between rafters. Next up is to remove flat roof to extend the dormer and demolish walls below. Pete is trimming rafters to fit steel webbing using a router and jigsaw. John borrows Pete's DeWalt circular saw to trim timbers and gives you his opinion !!
