The Mayo Arts Show is broadcast each Sunday night on CRCfm 102.9 and online from Castlebar, Co Mayo and regularly features poetry and creative writing from people living in the region. Following the Rescue 116 tragedy near Blacksod on 14th March 2017 a number of people sent in poems to the programme. Two months later on 21st May these poems along with some beautiful songs were broadcast as a tribute to the Dublin Coast Guard crew who lost their lives a few miles off our Mayo Coast. This programme is Mayo’s expression of gratitude to four people who did so much to help others - Captain Dara Fitzpatrick, Captain Mark Duffy, Winch Operator Paul Ormsby and Winchman Ciaran Smith. Their names will remain in our hearts and minds for a very long time to come.
