This recording was made in the Sydney Opera House, in the public by one of her fans. It came out quite well, the recording was done on automatic recording level. Thats why the louder passages were limited, which is a pity, because it flattens the dynamics. This run of performances was the first time Joan Sutherland sang Masnadieri in her career, she repeated this opera in San Diego in 1984. She recorded the role for Decca in april 1982 with a strong cast : Bonisolli, Manuguerra and Ramey ! The tenor in this recording is Paul Ferris , a bit lightweight for this role, replacing the ill Donald Smith.
