This is the result of various load tests on my garden layout for an LGB Austrian prototype 2095 series diesel. On the uphill section of 1 in 20 (5%) haulage capacity was almost doubled by simply removing the pickup skates from the loco! That's the only modification made for this video. With skates the loco could only haul 5 of the hopper wagons. Other tests with added weight in the loco showed far less benefit than removing the skates.
