Excuse the skipping near the end, there must have been a defect in the blank because the cutter head cut into the aluminum. It is surprising how this record got out with this defect considering how good recordings by 1955.

Before tape was popular, recordings were made on Acetate Discs. These were an aluminum disc coated with Acetate which can be recorded with a record cutter stylus. The blanks had an extra 3 holes to provide traction since the stylus would develop significant drag.
I purchased many of these discs in the late 1960s early 1970s from Salvation Army. It was easy to spot these in stacks of 78 RPM disks because the edge was shinier. Many came from radio stations.
