South Korea and the U.S. have started their annual springtime military drills,... using computer simulations.
Seoul says the nine-day exercise will NOT involve any field troop maneuvers.
Meanwhile, North Korea, which is always strongly opposed to the drills... may hold a military parade during the training period.

South Korea and the U.S. have begun their joint military exercise, which started Monday.
Seoul's Joint Chiefs of Staff announced the day before that it plans to conduct computer-simulated Combined Command Post Training with the U.S. for nine days.
Aimed at enhancing the combined operational capabilities of the two allies,... it said the exercise will not involve any field troop maneuvers.
The South Korean military added that it has taken into account factors such as the COVID-19 situation... as well as the two countries' combined defense posture, an area that they wished to put more focus on.
Last week, ahead of this major combined training,... the allies conducted a preliminary drill, or 'crisis management staff training' over four days.
The joint drill will run until April 28th.
With North Korea having been strongly critical of such joint drills in the past,... all eyes are on whether the regime will conduct further provocation during the combined training.
Next Monday marks the 90th anniversary of the founding of the People's Army, a key event for the North,... and there has been speculation that the regime will hold a large-scale military parade on this day.
On Saturday,... the North said it had tested a "new type of tactical guided weapon"... to boost its nuclear capabilities.
The South Korean military also confirmed that it had detected two projectiles that flew around 110 kilometers... at a speed of up to 4 times the speed of sound.
