The Institute of Applied Dermatology (IAD), Kasaragod, Kerala has developed a protocol to treat Filariasis or lymphoedema or Hathi Paon. This protocol as treatment includes modern medicine, Ayurveda and Yoga as therapy, the first of its kind anywhere in the world. This integrated protocol has effectively helped over ten thousand patients spread across the country. Dr. SR Narahari, a renowned dermatologist, also known as people’s doctor in this area, is the brain behind the development of treatment protocol to this disease. He collaborated with Oxford medical experts especially Prof. Terence Ryan for this new medical development.
