The 1st 7 Questions to Ask an “Investor” - QUALIFY THEM
1. What type of real estate? Homes (single-family, duplex, etc), office, retail, apartments, etc.
2. Are you buying and holding/renting OR buying and flipping/selling?
3. Are you paying cash or getting a loan to buy? If using loans, do you have 20% saved for down payment and cost of repairs/upfit? If loan, have they considered and interest only or hard money loan?
4. How much in absolute dollars like $10,000 are you willing to put into the property for repairs or upfit?
5. Will you do only cosmetic repairs like paint and carpet or are you willing to do structural items like moving walls, additions, and full gut jobs?
6. How many investment properties do you currently own or have owned in the past?
7. What is your timeline to acquire a property?
