Janet Wei, MD, FACC, is a cardiologist with the Barbra Streisand Women's Heart Center, Co-Director of the Stress Echocardiography Lab at the Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute, and Assistant Medical Director of the Biomedical Imaging Research Institute. Dr. Wei is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular diseases, and treats persistent chest pain, microvascular dysfunction, atherosclerosis, hypertension, high cholesterol, and heart failure. She is also board certified in echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and cardiac computed tomography.
Dr. Wei received her medical degree from Northwestern University and completed her internal medicine residency at Cedars-Sinai. She remained at Cedars-Sinai for her general cardiology fellowship and was a Chief Cardiology Fellow in 2012-2013. She completed an additional year of advanced training in women’s heart disease as the 2013-2014 Constance Austin Women’s Heart Fellow at the Barbra Streisand Women’s Heart Center.
Dr. Wei’s research interests include heart disease in women, cardiovascular disease prevention, and coronary vascular dysfunction. Her research is National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded and includes the evaluation of coronary, carotid, and peripheral atherosclerosis using magnetic resonance imaging. She has published her research in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national cardiology conferences. She is the recipient of the American Heart Association Women in Cardiology Trainee Award for Excellence, the Cedars-Sinai Sports Spectacular Endowed Fellowship Award, and the American College of Cardiology (ACC) Emerging Faculty Award.
