At least eleven people are dead and a dozen others are still missing after a boat capsized off the coast of Tunisia in the Mediterranean Sea on Tuesday.
The Tunisian Coast Guard rescued 14 people after the sinking of the boat, which was carrying 37 migrants to Italy.
Tunisia's state news agency (TAP) reported on Sunday that - as part of a search operation - the country's Coast Guard reportedly recovered five more bodies this weekend, bringing the number of victims to eleven.
However, the authorities point out that another twelve people are still missing. According to the investigations initiated by the public prosecutor, all the people on board the boat were Tunisians.
The International Organization for Migration, a UN agency, estimates that more than 1,000 migrants have died this year attempting to cross the central Mediterranean, with April being the month in which the most deaths - 233 - have been recorded.
