In the early days of the Galactic Empire, Lieutenant Erv Lekauf accompanied Darth Vader on a critical mission. During an ambush by assassins, Lekauf defied Vader’s orders and stepped in to help the Dark Lord. This act of bravery caught Vader off guard, earning Lekauf a place among the Sith’s few trusted subordinates. Impressed by Lekauf’s loyalty, Vader later insisted on cloning his aide when Palpatine cloned the Emperor's Hand, Sa Cuis. When the Cuis clones turned against their masters, it was Lekauf and his clones who defended the Sith. The Emperor, thoroughly impressed, ordered the creation of even more Lekauf clones. Despite his loyalty, Lekauf’s injuries from protecting the Sith were severe. With Vader’s blessing, Lekauf retired to spend his remaining years with his family. His legacy lived on through his grandson Jori, who, inspired by his grandfather’s tales of Darth Vader, became a corporal in the Galactic Alliance Guard.
