In The Lord of the Rings trilogy, filmmakers used various techniques to show the size difference between hobbits and larger creatures. They relied on clever camera angles, scale doubles, and special rigs, such as oversized human models, to maintain the illusion of size disparity. In scenes like the Prancing Pony, these large rigs allowed the hobbits to appear small next to human characters while still showing their faces. Although the rigs looked ridiculous on set, they were effective since the shots were filmed from the hobbits' perspective.
