From Dec 18, anyone entering or leaving the Indonesian capital Jakarta on public transport must first show a negative rapid antigen test. This is to prevent a surge in COVID-19 infections during the year-end holidays. Activities must be limited to a maximum of five people during the Christmas and New Year holidays as well. Those violating the rules will face sanctions, which could result in a fine of a maximum of about US$18. Indonesia has reported nearly 6,700 new infections.
