May 16, 2024 in the beautiful gardens of Castle Howard - I sat out in the car one day from the lovely bed-and-breakfast in which I stayed in Harrogate. Settling into my rental car, I look forward to a day of additional explorations.

The beauty of having a general plan when exploring a new area, and not holding to any strict agenda, is that you can come across site such as this.

Castle, Howard is about an hour drive from Harrogate, if you know where you're going and have a set route. It's only an hour drive from York.

I had no set plan and so it took me a little longer to reach Castle Howard yet I was extremely glad I did. It's near the southeast end of the North York Moors National Park, so you have an incredibly beautiful drive to reach the castle and its garden.

Here, a look at the abundant and fragrant wisteria within the castle's Walled Garden. As I began exploring the garden and then a portion of the castle grounds.- there are 1,000 acres of parkland - I was grateful yet again for taking a free spirited approach to seeing what the day would bring.
