Japan has approved a US$1 trillion budget for the next fiscal year. It is a record high for the ninth year in a row. The increased spending is fuelling concerns over the ailing economy, which has taken another hit because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Martin Schulz, Chief Policy Economist from the Strategy Planning Division at the Fujitsu Research Institute, shared his thoughts on this.
